Life is meant to be enjoyed.
Dear friend,
I tell our mutual friends that you were biologically engineered in the future and sent back in time to enjoy everything that happens here to the max. A few weeks ago, you had a child. You’re my first close friend to embark on this journey. I’m glad you’re going first so that you can show us how to do it right.
There isn’t an adventure I wouldn’t join you on. There isn’t a difficulty I wouldn’t face with you. Your little one is lucky to have you.
I wrote this draft of verse a little while ago:
Am I ahead or behind, stuck in fast forward or rewind?
What’s the essence? What’s essential?
Zoomin’ in on right now is how I realize my potential.
Is that crazy? Irrational?
Do I put me first or feel compassion, y’all?
I know that you will love your daughter, in every single moment. I’m rooting for you and your whole team. I am honored to be a part of your life, a tiny little arc in your circle. I look forward to watching you (and the little one) grow during this next phase of life. It will be scary; the darkness will come. And there will be lights!
I guess all I wanted to say is this:
I love you.
I believe in you.
I want the world for you.
No matter if you’re feeling ahead or behind–stuck in fast forward or rewind–if you or your family need anything, give a ring.
Thank you for teaching me how to enjoy my life.
Yours,
JT
